六集大型高清纪录片《淮河六章 The Huai River》由安徽广播电视台摄制，全片历时三年，拍摄行程超过三万公里，纪录了淮河两岸的寒来暑往，以及淮河普通人的生产与生活画面，是一部当代淮河人的生活档案，从多方面展示淮河人真实而火热的生活，讴歌劳动与艺术之美，折射当今社会的发展与进步及普通人的理想与追求以及生活在淮河两岸的人们，与淮河难以割舍的关系与情感。
全片追求“有名、有趣、有生活、有故事”的创作思路，从生活切入，拍摄老百姓的故事，说说老百姓的心声，片中的各地方言和地方戏，都会让熟悉和生活在这个流域的观众有非常亲切的感觉。
《淮河六章》第一集《行走的习俗》
通过正阳关船家张家喜的新船下水仪式，周口杂技团学员王宇洋王宇华兄弟在杂技团的训练与学习生活，亳州延绵一千多年的养生习俗和皖北儿童史焱焱剪辫子等故事，展现皖北大地上固守千年的习俗。
《淮河六章》第二集《淳厚的味道》
通过淮河流域的特色食物，淮南豆腐坊陆新文夫妻的辛苦劳作与对儿子的期望，阜阳洪胡子特色的枕头馍，太和县宫集镇做小磨麻油生意的牛民杰，生活在金寨大山深处坚持酿制小吊酒的吴功明，以及中国山芋之乡泗县大路口乡生产粉丝的陈敬然一家等等，赞美汇集南北农作物与饮食习惯的淮河，数千年来默默滋养着两岸的生灵，为五谷的丰收提供保障。
《淮河六章》第三集《流动的生计》
以淮河、焦岗湖和洪泽湖上的渔民生活变迁为叙事线索，突出人水和谐相处的重要性，表现人对河流的热爱与依靠。本集有世代在洪泽湖上打渔为生的杨正金夫妻；随着时代而变，不断改变湖上生活形式的刘友旺一家；为了挽救淮河里珍贵的淮王鱼而处心积虑的詹可和；因淮河污染而临新选择的刘德保。
《淮河六章》第四集《平原的曲调》
集中展现淮河流域自源头到中下游地区。有特色的民间艺术，通过淮河源头的桐柏皮影艺人彭大义，淮北乡村豫剧家班曹秀明一家，凤阳原生态花鼓民间艺人邓凡兰和小孙女思思的故事，怀远花鼓灯传人以及啤酒厂工人花鼓灯鼓王梅联社等，突出民间艺人的生活，以及艺术与现代生活的融合。
《淮河六章》第五集《家乡的水土》
由砀山梨园切入，讲述淮河流域特殊的地理、地貌的形成原因，以及人们在这片土地上获得的收获，如砀山梨农唐成红夫妻，灌东海盐盐农苏春宝，生活在兴化垛田水乡的袁桂华和界首彩陶传人卢莉花等。突出勤劳智慧的淮河人总能在绝境中看到希望，在困惑中迸发出力量。
《淮河六章》第六集《生活的家园》
为全片总结篇，在时代的不断变迁中，淮河人从没有放弃对美好生活的向往和追求，讴歌淮河人的美好情操。淮河承载了古老历史，也承载着新时代新生活的希望。在古浍河岸边的临涣古镇，在古旧的茶楼里，一群生活惬意的老人，和知足常乐的茶楼老板郑同川夫妻，在江淮分水岭崔岗村实现艺术梦想的谢泽，生活在淮河源头的护林员和山林里的僧人，都在守护自己的生活方式，追求自己的梦想。淮河是淮河人世代相守的家园，也是中国人的精神原乡。
